OCDR’s are perfect for indoor/ outdoor coverage in urban areas or outdoor coverage in rural and mountainous areas. The OCDR- 8000 is available in power levels of 75W 150W or 300W (power before the output band pass filter). The units are contained in either 2RU or 3RU chassis that can be mounted in a customer supplied equipment rack.
The OCDR-8000 incorporates several key features that provide robust operational performance.
These units have a wide dynamic input range to accommodate various receive level conditions. To enhance this dynamic range, these units have a built in low noise amplifier with excellent Noise Figure (NF) performance. On top of that, the units provide strong adjacent channel rejection to accommodate installation in any TV market.
One of the key features of the OCDR-8000 is the superior echo cancellation capabilities. The echo cancellation continuously, automatically, and adaptively eliminates dynamically varying echoes from the received signal. This feature makes the OCDR- 8000 easy to install, which reduces engineering costs. It also produces stable operation and excellent performance.
The OCDR-8000 integrates Digital Adaptive Precorrection (DAP) technology, which provides superior performance that is unattainable using any other correction technique. The DAP system provides adaptive linear and non-linear precorrection to maximize the SNR performance.
The OCDR-8000 is simple to use and install. The front panel display provides continuous, automatic, and real time measurement and display of the intermodulation performance as well as the SRN of the output transmit signal. The units also have front panel indicators for received signal level strength and echo strength indicators. Once operational, the unit provides adaptive power control for stable operation under any echo conditions. This allows the installer direct field signal condition assessment and easy field installation.
The OCDR-8000 is fully compliant with ATSC A/53 DTV standard as well as the newly approved ATSC A/153 Mobile DTV standard. The units are remotely upgradable either locally or remotely via a WAN connection to the device.
The OCDR 8000 features >25% efficiency and low power consumption. These products are also small in size and light weight.
For 75W and 150W, the units are contained in a 2RU chassis that can be mounted in a standard 19" EIA rack. The higher power 300W unit is contained in a 3RU chassis.
The OCDR-8000 series offers full compatibility with multi-unit installations (multiple OCDR's in an SFN). The adaptive power adjustment function continuously and automatically adjusts individual power level to achieve equalized and constructive coverage when multiple units are in use.
The OCDR-8000 has built-in protection mechanisms. The units are protected against damage due to over heat, loss of RF input, and excessive echo. Protection mechanisms will automatically mute the unit should any of the preset thresholds be exceeded.
The OCDR-8000 product line supports UHF as well as VHF. External RF systems are available from Hitachi-Comark.
