History
2023 December Nisshinbo Holdings Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Nisshinbo Singapore Pte. Ltd., acquire all the shares of HVJ Holdings Inc., which holds 80% of our company's stock. Our company becomes a consolidated subsidiary of Nisshinbo Holdings Inc.
2020 February HVJ Holdings Inc. (an SPC funded by Japan Industrial Partners, Inc. ) acquires the shares held by KKR in our company. The ownership ratio is 80% for HVJ Holdings Inc. and 20% for Hitachi, Ltd.
2018 June Our company divested its thin-film process solutions business through an absorption-type company split whereby HKE Holdings establised by KKR was the succeeding corporation.
May The merger of Hitachi Kokusai Yagi Solutions Inc. with Kokusai Electric Techno Service Co., Ltd. and HS Services Inc. is conducted to establish HYS Engineering Service Inc.
March the shares of our company were delisted from the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2016 October Our company moved its Tokyo headquarters from Chiyoda-ku to Minato-ku.
June Our company made BCS Teknoloji Yayıncılık ve Haberleşme Sistemleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Kokusai Electric Turkey Elektronik Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş..

April The merger of Hitachi Kokusai Electric Services, Inc with YAGI ANTENNA INC., YAGI ELECTRONICS CO., Ltd, and Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd is conducted to establish Hitachi Kokusai Yagi Solutions Inc.
2011 October Hitachi Kokusai Brazil Electric Products and Services Ltda., Hitachi Kokusai Linear Electronic Equipments S/A and its consolidated subsidiary became new consolidated subsidiaries of our company due to the acqusition of shares.
Kook Je Electric Korea Co., Ltd. (Kokusai Electric Korea Co., Ltd.) merged with FUSIONAID CO., LTD.
September Hitachi Kokusai Brazil Electric Products and Services Ltda. became new consolidated subsidiaries of our company due to the acquisition of shares.

2008 April KOKUSAI ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH and HITACHI KOKUSAI ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH merged to form "HITACHI KOKUSAI ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH"(currently a consolidated company of our company), and HITACHI KOKUSAI ELECTRIC U.K. LTD, former subsidiary of our company (as of March 31 ), became a wholly-owned subsidiary of HITACHI KOKUSAI ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH.
2007 April
  • The business departments of Hitachi Denshi Technosystems Ltd. were divided into those conducting the engineering operations of our company and those conducting other operations. Then, the latter transferred its operations to Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd. and our company merged with the former.
  • Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd. transferred operations of the Akita Works (involving the departments in charge of design and sales of electric and communications equipment) to our company. Other departments of Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd., together with those transferred from Hitachi Denshi Technosystems Ltd. as described above, have strengthened engineering operations with the Hamura Works serving as the core.
January Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of our company by stock exchange.
2006 May Our company additionally invested in Kokusai Electric Asia Pacific Shanghai Ltd., which was renamed Hitachi Kokusai Electric (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

2005 April Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd. merged with Kokusai Denki Alpha Co., Ltd. to form a new company named Hitachi Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd. Goyo Engineering Co., Ltd. merged with Goyo Electronics Co., Ltd. to form a new company named Goyo Electronics Co., Ltd.
2004 October The Yagi Antenna Division was split off to form a new company (YAGI ANTENNA INC.). (Currently a consolidated company of our company)
2003 December KEM Co., Ltd. completed the process of voluntary liquidation. Our company closed its Chitose Works, Yagi Commemorative Telecommunications System Institute, Sendai Division.
June Akita Yagi Electronics Co., Ltd. merged with Tottori Yagi Electronics Co., Ltd. and renamed itself Yagi Electronics Co., Ltd.
April The operations of Kokusai Denki Logistics Co., Ltd. were divided into two parts. The transport operations concerning semiconductor manufacturing systems were integrated into Kokusai Electric Semiconductor Service Co., Ltd. Meanwhile, operations concerning communications and information systems and other enterprises were integrated into Kokusai Denki Techno Service Inc.
March Kokusai Semiconductor Equipment Corp., a US-based subsidiary, merged with Kokusai Electric America, Inc. The US-based subsidiary Micro C. Technologies, Inc. was then closed.
2002 September Shizuoka Kokusai Denki Co., Ltd. completed the process of voluntary liquidation.
April Our company merged with Kokusai Denki Training Center Co., Ltd., which was later dissolved. Kokusai Denki Engineering Co., Ltd. then set up Goyo Engineering Co., Ltd.
March The Fuji Yoshida Works was closed.
2001 December The Kobuchizawa Works was closed.
November The operations at the Sendai and Kobuchizawa Works were respectively transferred to Tohoku Electronics Engineering Co., Ltd.
October Kokusai Denki Techno Service Inc. merged with Nikko Techno Co., Ltd. Hitachi Kokusai Electric Services Inc. merged with Yagi System Engineering Co., Ltd.
Tohoku Electronics Engineering Co., Ltd. was set up on the premises of the Sendai Works.

  • Kokusai Electric Co., Ltd.("KE") was set up (with registered capital of 25 million yen).
1950
  • KE delivered the first medium frequency broadcasting equipment to NHK (10kW medium frequency broadcasting equipment).
1953
  • KE opened its Osaka Station (today's Kansai Branch) and Fukuoka Station (today's Kyushu Branch).
1954
  • KE completed its unmanned relay station on the Daibosatsu Pass. KE delivered the first train guiding radio device in Japan to Hanshin Electric Railway Co., Ltd.
1948
  • Shiba Electric was set up.
1952
  • Yagi Antenna Co., Ltd. was set up.

1956
  • KE exported its first short wave ISB transmitter and terminal device to Brazil.
1957
  • KE delivered radio equipment to the Antarctic research ship, "Soya," for the Japan Coast Guard. KE delivered the first guiding radio system public-purpose train wireless telephone set in Japan to the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation.
1961
  • KE was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and designated as an issue for the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It completed and marketed the first Japan-made microwave oven for business use.
1962
  • KE commercialized the radio-controlled clock, "Acuratic." (It was launched on the market the subsequent year.)
1963
  • KE developed the first purely Japanese-made diffusion furnace. KE delivered the first prototype of an intra-urban automobile telephone to the Research Institute of Electrical Communication.
1955
  • Showadenshi Sangyo Corporation was set up. Osaka Station was opened up (today's Kansai Branch).
1956
  • Shiba Electric succeeded in manufacturing video cameras in Japan.
1958
  • Shiba Electric's analog computer won the Grand Prix in the Belgium World Exposition. Shiba Electric opened up its Koganei Works. Shiba Electric opened its Fukuoka Station (today's Kyushu Branch).
1959
  • Shiba Electric completed its broadcast-purpose VCR, which was the first produced in Japan. Shiba Electric established its affiliate, Shiba Electronics Industries.
1961
  • Shiba Electric opened up its Nagoya Station (today's Chubu Branch).
1963
  • Shiba Electric was listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges. Showadenshi Sangyo Corporation renamed itself Hitachi Denshi. Shiba Electric set up Shibaden America. Shiba Electric opened up Sendai Station (today's Tohoku Area Operation).
1964
  • Shiba Electric supplied its VTRs exclusively to the Tokyo Olympics. Shiba Electric's cameras and relays were also successfully operated.
1955
  • Yagi Antenna("YG") opened its Osaka Station.
1956
  • YG opened its stations in Fukuoka, Sendai, Nagoya, and Sapporo.
1957
  • YG developed Japan's first eight-stage super turn antenna (and delivered it to Hokkaido Broadcasting).
1958
  • YG opened up its Tokyo Station.
1959
  • YG developed a complex antenna, which merits the title of the second Yagi Antenna (patents obtained).
1961
  • YG opened up its Omiya Works and Hiroshima Station.
1963
  • YG was listed on the Second Section of the market on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. YG opened its Takamatsu Station. YG constructed a 50kW four-plane ten-stage super gain antenna (and delivered it to Tokyo Channel 12).

  • Kokusai Electric delivered 2kW transmitters and various other items of wireless equipment to the Antarctic research ship, "Fuji." KE opened up its Nagoya Station (today's Chubu Branch).
1966
  • KE relocated itself to the Hamura Works.
1968
  • KE's TZ-60 wireless equipment contributed to the victims of the Tokachioki Earthquake (connecting Tokyo to Tohoku and to Hokkaido).
1970
  • KE cooperated with the artificial satellite "Osumi" (and obtained a letter of thanks from Tokyo University's Institute of Space and Aeronautic Science). KE started to deliver beepers to the Nippon Telegraph and Telegram Public Corporation.
1974
  • KE started to operate the stock price information TV device (and obtained a letter of thanks from the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Osaka Stock Exchange).
1968
  • Nikko Electronics was set up (the precursor to Hitachi Koganei Electronics; and today's Hitachi Denshi Technosystem, Ltd.).

  • Shiba Electric set up its affiliate, Shibaden UK.
1973
  • Shiba Electric merged with Hitachi Denshi to form as new Hitachi Denshi("HD").

  • HD set up its affiliate, Nikko Kosan (today's Kokusai Electric Techno Service). HD merged with Tohoku Hitachi Denshi to form the Sendai Works.

  • KE started its automobile telephone service for the Tokyo region of the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation. KE delivered a base station for automobile telephony.

  • KE opened up its Los Angeles Station.

  • HD opened up the Kobuchizawa Works.

  • HD's single-tube color camera, the world's smallest, was selected as one of the Industrial Research's IR-100 selections (the 100 selected developed products of the world).

  • HD marketed its domestic video camera. HD marketed a solid-state camera, the first of its kind made in Japan.

  • HD set up its affiliate, Hitachi Denshi Europe

  • YG developed its air optical transmission system.

  • HD's visual device for light simulators passed Phase II of the US Federal Aviation Bureau standards.

  • YG marketed a BS reception antenna and a broadband LAN system.

  • His Highness Hitachinomiya visited the Toyama Works. His Highness the Crown Prince visited the Fuji Yoshida Works.

  • KE set up its local subsidiary, Kokusai Electric America, Inc., in California, USA. KE set up its local subsidiary, Bruce Technologies International, Inc., in Massachusetts, USA.

  • KE set up its local subsidiary, Kook Je Electric Korea Co., Ltd. (Kokusai Electric Korea Co., Ltd.), in Chonan City, Republic of Korea. KE relocated its head office from Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo to 3-14-20, Higashi Nakano, Nakano-ku, Tokyo (today's head office location).

  • KE delivered its mobile phone mover, MINIMO T202, to IDO and joined the domestic market for cellular mobile phones. Beeper sales topped 2 million units. KE's Yoshida Works obtained the ISO 9002 standard certification.

  • KE's Hamura, Toyama, and Fuji Yoshida Works respectively obtained the ISO 9001 standard certification.
1996
  • KE was listed on the First Section of the market on the Osaka Stock Exchange. KE delivered the 800MHz "KO101" digital mobile phone to NTT DoCoMo. KE's Toyama Works obtained the ISO 14001 standard certification. KE started to sell factory-purpose digital cordless telephone system (Digital Super Sine Mobix, Sine Net).
1997
  • KE was awarded the Second Prize for Disclosure of Listed Companies by the Tokyo Stock Exchange. KE's cumulative numbers of vertical diffusion CVD units shipped achieved 3,000 units. KE set up the Chitose Works. KE set up its local subsidiary, Kokusai Semiconductor Equipment Corporation, Kokusai BTI Corporation, and Kokusai Communications Systems, Inc., in California, USA. KE developed and marketed its small still picture transmitter "Image Beauty." KE advanced into the Yokosuka Research Park (YRP).

  • HD set up the Development Institute.
1991
  • HD's ultra-high-sensitivity Harpicon camera was awarded the Development Award by the Television Society HD's train radio equipment for the Shinkansen was recognized publicly by the Railway Electrical Engineering Association of Japan. HD was listed on the First Section of the market of the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges.
1992
  • HD developed a "single-frequency simultaneous bidirectional radio device" jointly with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Fujitec Co. HD's ultra-small FPU was awarded the Television Society's Technology Promotion Prize, Progress Prize. HD's arrival order judgment system was active in the Barcelona Olympics. HD's Sendai Works obtained the ISO 9002 standard certification

  • HD's Hi-Vision camera SK-1500 was awarded Hi-Vision-related prizes. HD's "single-frequency simultaneous bidirectional radio device" was awarded the Ministry of Posts ands Telecommunications Prize.

  • The Koganei and Kobuchizawa Works respectively obtained the ISO 9002 standard certification.

  • YG completed its Shin Hasunuma dormitory (for unmarried employees) in a neighboring area.

  • YG obtained an international quality control standard, namely ISO 9001.

  • KE received a large-quantity order from Deutsche Bahn for GSM-type relay base stations. KE set up KEM Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation. DKE realized the world's smallest body in DoCoMo by Kokusai KO207.
1999
  • The Chitose Works obtained the ISO 14001 standard certification. This marked the completion of all factories having obtained such certification. KE was selected as the procurement manufacturer of W-CDMA infrastructure equipment. KE started to sell its operational strategy system for securities companies (TMAP). KE developed its 42-inch plasma display multimedia information display system. KE commemorated its fiftieth anniversary on November 17.
2000
  • KE held festivities commemorating its fiftieth anniversary in Tokyo and Osaka. KE purchased Micro C Technologies of the USA. KE jointly established Infobank Co., Ltd., a new company providing investment information. KE delivered ticker boards to TSE ARROWS, which was completed on the ruins of the TSE Boardroom.
1998
  • HD's digital camera and other equipment were active in the Nagano Winter Olympics.
1999
  • Hitachi Koganei Denshi and Hitachi Denshi Technosystem merged to form Hitachi Denshi Technosystem, Ltd.
1998
  • YG obtained certification under the international environmental control standard ISO 14001.
1999
  • YG delivered ground wave digital broadcast testing equipment to Nagano. YG delivered a revamped version of CATV. Hotel CATV Internet YG delivered the first version of on-demand equipment. YG received an order for ETCS on the Tomei Expressway.
